Andrew was twenty-two on the day the world ended. It was also the day his daughter was born. Everything he has done in the eleven years since has been for her.
He has turned the top of a sixty-story tower into a home: a rooftop garden, a chicken coop, a pool, pancakes in the morning and a song hummed over the stove. Then he goes down into the dead streets to keep it that way, and comes back up with a smile and a story.
